The artwork of David Hewson combines the classical painting
techniques of the Old Masters with traditional methods of water gilding
in gold and other precious metals. He produces works of fine art that
present political, religious and philosophical themes in a fresh and
contemporary way. Hewson studied for years with some of the masters of
classical realism to hone his craft of painting from real life, and he
is unique in his combination of realist painting and classical gilding
to present images and tableaus that strike the viewer as thoroughly
modern.
