Hi KMO,

I like your rant. Actually, I reckon its too mild to be called a rant. I would ssay its is more of an accurate comment on the state of the world we know today.

I say the world 'we' know. Im I white middle class European, who has had the great fortune to have traveled the world a little. My experience of the two thirds world is mostly form India and SE Asia. Yes some crushing poverty. But some shining smiles which sing a happiness one rarely, if ever sees in our 'advanced industrialised' first world. Reasons for this I shant go into presently, perhaps ubiquitous acute narcissism will suffice presently.

Anyway, Im afraid I dont have sufficient time presently. The tone of your mild rant seemed slightly lonely, or perhaps a tad apologetic. Thus I simply wanted to let you know that my world view is strikingly similar, though I often unable to back it up sufficiently in talking with certain people.

Thats all for now. I hope you get a chance to read this.

Good health

KMO welcomes Zachary Nowak, author of Crash Course: Preparing for Peak Oil to the program to discus the utility calculus of preparing for tough times. Later KMO gets a head start on next week's interview with Peak Shrink, Kathy McMahon. Finally, Terence McKenna speaks across the years from the early 90's to share the good news about living in a world that's out of control.

In introducing Crash Course: Preparing for Peak Oil, I read an excerpt from a review by Frank Kaminski. You can find the full text of that review here.

KMO welcomes Dennis M. Bushnell, chief scientist of the NASA Langley Research Center, to discuss climate change and ways of combating it that don't produce Big Brother on steroids. Mr. Bushnell also discusses the existential risks that could arise from the "simultaneous IT, bio, nano, quantum, energetics, double exponential tech revolution."

Dennis M. Bushnell's Lifeboat Foundation bio: http://lifeboat.com/ex/bios.dennis.m.bushnell

In our conversation, Dennis Bushnell makes several references to and speaks very highly of a book by Peter D. Ward called Under a Green Sky: Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past, and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future.

Wow! Someone over on the Peak Oil News & Message Boards transcribed the whole interview. You can find it here:

AyasminA returns with an interview with visionary artist, Roberto Venosa. In addition to delving into his personal history and development as a visionary artist, Ayasmina and Roberto explore the dark side and ask whether evil exists as a thing in and of itself. They also examine the question of the reality of the subject matter of visionary art.

At present, Roberto's wife, Martina Hoffmann, has her work on display at the MicroCoSM Gallery in NYC. Roberto's work will soon be featured in a MicroCosM exhibit:
